Skilled Nursing
Registered Nurses with training and experience provide nursing care under the direction of your doctor.

The role of the nurse may vary depending upon your circumstances, but may include nurse assessment, injection administration, intravenous therapy, wound care, and patient and family education.

Psychiatric Nursing
Registered Nurses who specialize in the care of individuals with emotional and mental illnesses.  They work closely with a psychiatrist in monitoring a psychiatric plan of care.

Enterostomal Therapy Nursing
Registered Nurses who are certified to deal with all kinds of wounds, ostomies, and with incontinence problems.  They are especially well informed on the wide variety of products used to treat such conditions.

Certified Home Health Aides
Under supervision of an R.N., the aides assist with personal care and daily activities.

Physical Therapy
Registered physical therapists assist the physician in the restoration of physical function and rehabilitation through planned exercise and treatment programs.

Speech Therapy
Licensed speech therapists plan for and provide specialized services to assist in correcting communication disorders and swallowing disorders.

Occupational Therapy
Registered occupational therapists plan for and carry out activities which facilitate return to more independent activities of daily living.

Medical Social Services
Illness is often accompanied by numerous other problems.  The Social Worker can assess the patient's needs and strengths and help locate assistance for the patient.

  How can I get Home Care?  

Ask your doctor if homecare is appropriate for you or your family members.  If your doctor orders homecare, we will work closely with the doctor in developing an individual plan of care.

Gilbert's Home Health Agency accepts payment from the following:

  Who is Gilbert's Home Health?  

In 1977, J.T. Gilbert, a physical therapist from Tupelo began Gilbert's Home Health Agency.  Gilbert's was one of the first home health agencies in Mississippi.  The late Mr. Gilbert's name has always stood for quality in home care.  In fact, the Mississippi Association for Home Care annually presents the prestigious "J.T. Gilbert Award" to the home health clinician who has contributed the most and demonstrated the highest quality of care.
